Please Note : This is the configurable version of the Drivekey with x4 Diode and Jtag (new improved version!), It will work in ANY wii console new or old and is 100% Clip on application - no wires - no soldering - no epoxy glue removal - no Fuss

How It Works

Drivekey sits on the bus between the Wii motherboard and the DVD drive. It transparently monitors all data transmitted. When a backup disc is inserted DriveKey emulates an original game disc by transmitting and patching necessary data. DriveKey has full control and can read the entire DVD media.
Step 1

Configure DriveKey

Remove DriveKey from it's packaging and switch the dip-switches as follows:

Jap: ON ON, USA: OFF ON, Europe: ON OFF, Korea: OFF OFF

 

Step 2

Open Your Wii

With a tri-wing screwdriver, remove the Wii cover, exposing the
DVD drive.

 

Step 3

Disconnect the DVD drive

Lift the hinge and gently pull out the cable from the
DVD drive

 

Step 4

Connect the DVD drive to DriveKey

Insert the included cable gently, (pins face down) into, both the DVD drive and DriveKey (at the end marked "DVD") and close the hinge.

Step 5

Connect the Wii to DriveKey

Insert the cable previously removed from the DVD drive into the other end of DriveKey (at the end marked "Wii") and close the hinge.

Step 6

Insulate DriveKey, close your Wii cover & enjoy!

Stick the included DriveKey PVC sticker (or a few strips of insulating tape) over DriveKey to keep it out of contact with the chassis, replace the DVD drive and close the Wii cover. You will now be able to play backups (copies) of your favorite Wii titles as well as imported originals from other regions! It's as easy as that!

    Please Note: DriveKey is designed to modify your Wii game console. However, Wii was not designed with DriveKey nor any other mod chip in mind. While every effort has been taken to ensure that DriveKey is compatible with a broad range of media and drives there is no guarantee that any given media or game will work on a specific drive. There are a number of factors beyond the scope of DriveKey functionality that affects media compability, such as the laser diode and other internal circuitry in the DVD drive.

      This chip does what it says i recommend it to anyone wants to backup games delivery was fast too. install the chip about 30mins very easy

      I thought when i read the reviews that they were probably made up by people who run this site but i must say what you read is what you get.
      I ordered my chip on a Tuesday at 5pm and it arrived less than 2 days later at 11am, Fantasic service.
      I fitted the chip using Youtube as a source of information and i was up and running within an hour.
      I would have no problems recommending this site for anyone wanting to buy a chip.

      Ordered on sunday, received on Tuesday Morning!!

      Easy to install, worked first time, using nero to for backup games, works perfectly. Did try imgburn, but seem to have problems reading discs in the wii.

      Used Nero after that no problems.

      The chips and screwdriver arrived after 4 days due to the postal strike.

      The chips were easy to install, and the backups worked perfectly.

      One little thing. The dip switches are absolutely tiny. so be careful. They also have a little plastic covering over them. I used a craft knife to gently put the switches into the required position.

      Mod chip + screwdriver came day after I ordered it.
      once I got the wii apart - it was an easy install (even though it was my first time).
      once installed and after i had put in a backup disk it asked me to do an update and said on the screen it could possibly ruin my wii with an unauthorised modification - so I bit the bullet and did the update. - works 100%
      the best solder free chip you can get - no probs.
      i would reccomend this to anyone.

      Works great on all games, Without any error codes like you get on the soft mod.

      Very fast receipt of the Drivekey modchip I had ordered. Easy installation. Check out "Youtube" video for further help. Also great price for this product. Lastly, don't forger to order the "triwing" screwdriver for Wii dissasembly. 10/10!

      Ordered this on Tuesday evening, was with me on Thursday but had to collect from the Post Office (so can't blame these guys), Installation was simple and took me no more than 15 minutes and once I had worked out how to configure it using the reset button on the WII we were up and running with the games that had already been prepared in anticipation of its arrival.
      All game have been burnt @ 2x using Imgburn.
      I can see I will be installing many more of these for family and friends alike.
