The All New DriveKey

NSMB fixed on DriveKey!

We have fixed the NSMB issue in DriveKey. The updated firmware will be in all chips shipping from Monday 30th November. We will also be providing an update for existing DriveKey owners, which will be released as soon as the JTAG programmer is ready. In the near future we will also publish a standard for appending BCA data at the end of the ISO image, so that any new game with this new protection will work without any update of the chip. The actual game ISO will remain unmodified. This is the configurable version of the Drivekey with x4 Diode and Jtag (new improved version!), It will work in ANY wii console new or old and is 100% Clip on application - no wires - no soldering - no epoxy glue removal - no Fuss

How It Works

Drivekey sits on the bus between the Wii motherboard and the DVD drive. It transparently monitors all data transmitted. When a backup disc is inserted DriveKey emulates an original game disc by transmitting and patching necessary data. DriveKey has full control and can read the entire DVD media.

Configure DriveKey

Remove DriveKey from it's packaging and switch the dip-switches as follows:

Jap: ON ON, USA: OFF ON, Europe: ON OFF, Korea: OFF OFF

Open Your Wii

With a tri-wing screwdriver, remove the Wii cover, exposing the
DVD drive.

Disconnect the DVD drive

Lift the hinge and gently pull out the cable from the
DVD drive

Connect the DVD drive to DriveKey

Insert the included cable gently, (pins face down) into, both the DVD drive and DriveKey (at the end marked "DVD") and close the hinge.

Connect the Wii to DriveKey

Insert the cable previously removed from the DVD drive into the other end of DriveKey (at the end marked "Wii") and close the hinge.

Insulate DriveKey, close your Wii cover & enjoy!

Stick the included DriveKey PVC sticker (or a few strips of insulating tape) over DriveKey to keep it out of contact with the chassis, replace the DVD drive and close the Wii cover. You will now be able to play backups (copies) of your favorite Wii titles as well as imported originals from other regions! It's as easy as that!

Fast delivery and easy to install. Just watch video on you tube. Word of caution, as in previous review I had problems with the 2 tri screws keeping the facia attached. I ended up using a very pointy knife just to get the initial turn on the screw. It worked a treat.

After fitting everything is working perfectly. One word of caution whilst fitting. When I came to the two screws that hold the face plate in place the triwing screwdriver supplied by wii-chip damaged the head and I could not remove them. This was probably because the screws were tightened too tight during manufacture. As a result, the only option I had was to bore the screws out with 2 and 3 millimetre metal drill bits. Thankfully no cosmetic issues and faceplate is tight and snug. It was a little nerve wracking none-the-less!

Took me only 10 mins to fit this chip and now i can save £1000's. Don't forget to order the TriWing Screwdriver if you want to do a top job.

If you want to back up your WII games then you will need a H.L DVDROM Drive Model GDR8164B, You can get these on ebay for about £15.00+p&p

This is my second mod chip iv'e bought very easy to install you need to buy the triwing screwdriver, no need to set up just plug and play well worth the money will buy again thanx wii-chip for an excellent product.

The console can be a little fiddly but with a step by step guide online the chip went in and the machine worked afterwards!

Seems to do what it should, can't argue with that.

Delivery was prompt too.

Have ordered and fitted 3 of these now, all worked fine with no problems. have used latest game back up's and all work fine. postage and service from this company 2nd to none, just about to order another chip for my son.
